Deerfield Homeowner’s Association

Minutes of Meeting

September 13, 2006

Welcome - The meeting was called to order by Kent Kierman, HOA President.  The attendees were Doc O'Connor, Vice President; Ed Bennett, Treasurer; Anina McMurdo, Landscaping & Webmaster; Chelan Jenness, Secretary; Greg Jenness, Homeowner

A motion was suggested to change the HOA checking account from Bank of America to First Mutual Savings Bank (where our current savings account is) in order to save on fees and make transfering funds between accounts easier and faster.  The motion was passed.

It was agreed to turn off the water by the soccer field and playground now that the rain has returned to save water.  The site manager was notified to come mark all of the sprinklers because some were not functioning properly.  Also is was found that the master valve by the playground was broken and needs to be fixed.  A motion was passed to have Natural Design Landscaping fix the broken valve this fall.

The fence that borders 228th along Deerfield is missing a few boards and needs a facelift.  While it is technically owned by the City of Sammamish, it is our responsibility to maintain it.  Ed has volunteered to replace the boards that have fallen off.  We will look into doing a complete fence remodel at a later date.

The grass in the entrance and around the playground will continued to be watered for eye appeal.

The pipeline contruction has been completed.  Cleanup is scheduled to begin once the rain starts.  The grass and trail will be replaced once cleanup is finished.  We will request that Natural Design Services keep the grass higher and thicker in this area when we renegotiate the contract with them.

An email was received by the HOA for a comlaint about noise.  A reminder to all homeowners that any noise problems should be directed to the police (911).  The bylaws state that quite hours begin at 10:00pm.  It was also suggested that the HOA check their email more often so as to respond to the homeowners concerns in a timely manner.

Road construction on 228th was scheduled to start in July.  As we all know it didn't start until September.  It is suppose to take about 4 months to complete.
